I am here at Jerez with my dad for the MotoGP. On friday we went into the paddock and met Chaz Davies and James Ellison, we also had a quick chat with Bradley Smith who is a rookie in 125. Today saturday Chaz Davies was on his team mates bike. Chazs team mate broke his leg on day 1 of the year not very good. The results for QP are
125 Bradley Smith pos 23
250 Chaz Davies pos 16
MotoGP Class James Ellison pos 18
PS We will be back in uk Tue _________________ Chaz Davies Rules
Ellison sucks. To be where he is on the M1 just says he has no business in MotoGP, he'd be better off in BSB or WSB with the others who couldn't cut it.
I'd like to see a brit do well, but the guff he comes out with in MCN just confirms he simply isn't good enough (in my humble opinion). Only a few weeks ago in MCN he reckoned he cornered and exited corners as fast as anyone (including Rossi !), and he was only slow as when he braked he slowed down too fast !
This week in MCN he reckons it is unreasonable to expect to jump on the M1 and go fast straight away (boo hoo). But as he knows the tracks, surely it is very resonable to expect him to be better than all but last which is where he has qualified for Jerez.
MotoGP is for the elite, and I'd rather see no Brit than one looking bad, on a proven bike.
EDIT - Just watching the end of the Jerez GP and Ellison is dead last by a country mile (only rider to get lapped) - Nuff said. Good race though - Rossi did well to get back to 14th with only 1 footpeg! Pedrosa did really well too, I guess this year it's Rossi vs. the oompah lumpahs...
Well, swell that you're supporting the little guy Colin. Well done.
Your kind of drivel really annoys me, and if you think everything in MCN is true you really do need a reality check.
He's a friend of my brothers, and I hear a kinda different story from him... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

I'm not supporting anyone based on wether they are the big or little guy. Anyway he's on a M1 so how can he be the little guy. And he has said some funny things in MCN unless they're misquoting him.
I thougt the little guys were the ones up front doing the winning.
The little guy being the guy fresh into the sport (Moto GP) and onto the bike.
He doesn't earn much - can't even afford a house. He's got a ride because he was talent spotted, not because he brought half a million of sponsorship with him. He could have stayed in the 'lesser' classes, but was offered a go in the premiership. Wouldn't you have taken it no matter what? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Ofcourse he would be a fool to refuse such an opportunity on the M1. He isn't that fresh to MotoGP though, this is second or third season (can't remember ).
Don't get me wrong, it's all relative. I've tried some club level racing and can't imagine what MotoGP must be like - Ellison has talent I could only dream of, but so far I don't think he is up to MotoGP. He should be doing better on an M1.
His presence is not just down to talent spotting - I think another reason he got a ride was because Dorna like having some British riders. In my humble, anoying, drivelish opinion...
MCN and probably all the other magazines have been talkin Ellison up SO MUCH since he appeared on the scene, just like Colin says. Everyone absorbs the crap they read as usual and then are suprised when James is still getting lapped.... It's not his fault, its just the press heaping everyone's expectation on him coz its just something interesting for them to write about, that's what they do, it's their job! Seeing as he isn't gonna improve massively over night, he was only ever going to dissapoint everyone that believed the hype. Don't believe ANYTHING you read in magazines!!! Make your own mind up based on what you see with your own eyes.
And yeah, he IS there because of his passport like Colin sez, remeber the amount of lapping he got last year and he still got put on a good bike this year? As for his wage, he ain't quick enough to command good wages, his only hope is a one off good ride on a track he likes that could boost his profile. Other than that, he's gonna be outta here as soon as someone better comes along to fill his shoes. Bless him. _________________ After years of moaning about immigrants now i am one...
Colin NSR James Ellison is MUCH better than you on a bike. You try quilifying on Dunlops which are not quite there yet. Didnt think you could do it. ha ha so stop mowning about James Ellison being sh1t he is not. He just needs get used to the bike because the M1 has 50BHP more than the WCM he rode in 2005. This shows you know nothing about MotoGP. I agree with Dave ETT _________________ Chaz Davies Rules
This isn't a MotoGiPsy Forum, it's a 2-stroke forum.
When we considered expanding it at Christmas, the overwhelming view was to leave it as it is. Some asked if that were the case, could a few 4-stroke topics be allowed to continue. Well, yes they can, but not if they end up like this.
Any more of this nonsense, and the thread lock will appear on ALL bore-stroke topics. If it continues after that, then posts will simply be deleted.
You have been warned. _________________ Andy.
