You don't need to "get the seal out", the whole shaft pulls out (well it does on the '21 and '28 ) then you can fish the power valves themselves out individually down the exhaust port. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Thats not strictly true, there should be an e-clip on the shaft that goes behind the seal, therefore the seal does need removing to either remove or replace the e-clip. If you just pull the shaft out and the seal does not come out then the e-clip is either not fitted or is stuck behind the seal. It needs to be put back on to hold the shaft in the correct place.
Pulling the shaft out with a puller is best method (tyga do a great tool for this), my guess is that if you still have the clip on the shaft then it will pull the seal out with it. Then your right, you can just get the valves out from the exhaust port.
If the power valves are really coked up then put the nut & washer back on the shaft and get a claw hammer, put the claw bit under the washer and pull like mad, sometimes the shaft and e-clip will come out through the seal, this makes it easier to get the seal out as well.

AHHHHH!!! I don't recall HRC listing a framing hammer as a "special" tool in any of their documentation.
I think there's a thread some where on here about removing them with some nuts, washers so they come out without any issues. You may need to use a little solvent to help out with the carbon build up on the shaft. But I don't think a claw hammer is the best (or even second best) solution. _________________ Charles Gallant
Lesson to all... clean the RC Valves regularly, then you can almost pull the shaft out by hand - complete with e-clip and oil seal!! _________________ Andy.

Another reason to run lean, less coke!!! (and shorter barrel life, thus negating the need to worry about such matters).
And surely you could fix some arrangement up with a very short bit of tube and a repair washer to let you use the thread on the shaft to pull the shaft out? If you're doing it in situ getting a "claw hammer" into the top cylinder could be a little challenging. Then again if you're the sort of diligent owner who services RC valves in situ I doubt you've got a claw hammer in your toolbox in the first place. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

I wouldn't go that far!
A big hammer and a big screwdriver... can fix just about anything - so I've heard!! _________________ Andy.
