USA Import

Wed Apr 26, 2006 6:16 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I know this must have been brought up in the past, but I can't figure out how to do a search of the archives.

I'm looking at buying a NC30 in Ireland and would need to get it into the USA. Has anybody actually done this recently and know the best way to go about it?

Also: Anybody in the Dublin area than can actually check the bike out for me?

RC31
CRF250x
MC21 (new owner)
Maybe a 748R next week

You're better off buying one in the US. You'll have to deal with customs and shipping. Non-titled NC30s go for about $2500-3500 and there are plenty of people in the US than can get you one. I can probably source you one....how much do you want to spend and do you want a titled one?

I want a clean RC30 replica. Price is not big issue, but it should be reasonable. I only know of 2 NC30s that are available today. One is a POS, and the other is not what I want, for $5,500. Do you know something I don't?

They come up on e-bay from time to time (two there right now). Let people on 400greybike.com know you are looking and leads will pop up. I have seen a couple on cycletrader.com as well.

I've seen the ones on ebay. One has been up there three times. I contacted the seller and he won't bring the price down. Its pretty rough, and not exactly what I want so I can't see spending the money. Just too many things wrong with that deal. I posted to the wanted board so maybe something will come up. I'm also looking for a an MC21 or MC28 Rothmans. And an RC30.

Yeah, your right, it's a bit rough. Worth maybe 2k. There are some nice ones out there...

An RC30, man that's a dream bike of mine.. I guess if I sold 3 or 4 of the other bikes I have, I could afford one.. Sad

Yup, the RC30 is my ultimte dream bike, followed by MC28 Rothmans, NC30, 748R, GB500, and super magna. The price of the RC30 is always just slightly out of my ability to borrow the money.

Thanks for the tip. I'm looking, but for the right one. I seen that one a while back. I think the price is too high since it doesn't have the right bodywork, and not the body I am looking for. There was a better one on ebay last week, but it vanished mysteriously.

Well, I would give that one some thought. I have had some dealings with the seller and he is a very straight up guy. The RVF bodywork is a somewhat common upgrade so it could be sold very easily. I can hook you up with a real nice complete bodywork and tank set in RC30 replica paint. Wink
Plus it’s already titled!

Just a thought, I will keep my eyes open..

I seen a guy that had two NC30s for sale, and I was trying to get some bodywork out of Taiwan, but they stopped repying to my email. WHat about this set you know of?
