are there front and rear calipers from other bikes that will bolt straight on?

What kind of chain does the nsr use? 520 right?

The NSR uses a 520 chain. You want to get one of the lightest chains available.

Honestly the bike will waste more energy then needed spinning around a heavy duty chain meant for a bike like a 750 or bigger. THe powere produced by these things isn't insane, so get a normal chain (maybe not even o-ring). THe lightest weight per link as possible will be your best bet, and save you money over the high prices X-Ring, fancy chains meant for the latest GSXR or R6.

from reading old post on the forum it seems the 600rr calipers will only bolt on the 28 forks. Is this correct?

I think the early fireblade brakes are also the same - 1992/3.

Oops, forgot about that point. The 600rr calipers will bolt to the MC28 forks. The calipers are the same as quite a few other hondas. 900rr's, etc. I forget sometimes that I have mc28 forks on my 21.
