Poorly 28

Mon May 08, 2006 6:40 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

The sun is out and the birds are chirping so I decided it was time to get the strokers out!

I last rode her in October, I never drained the carbs just put a sheet over and forgot. Today I drained the carbs and put new fuel in the tank and fired her up. It is running really badly, poping on the r/h cylinder and reving really high at times like the throttle is stuck open, barely enough power to pull away, it just seems to be running on one cylinder but Im not to sure.

I expect to have to remove and clean the jets but thought i would ask you guys (and girls) what you think first.

I left my 3MA the same but that kicked over and ran fine even with the same fuel!

Any ideas?

I think you got to strip them carbs Crying or Very sad It all sounds like carb trouble. I'd give the plugs a clean while your at it.
I tend to turn off the fuel tap and let my NSR run untill out of fuel, if i'm not going to run it for any length of time.

Honda carbs in general seem to hate having fuel left in them - their gennies are the same.

Usually draining the old off and running fresh through has solved my woes, but a strip and clean will be the best bet.

Took the carbs off to clean and noticed the inlet rubber to the reeds was almost in two pieces!!!

It must have perished, the bike has only done about 3,000 miles which is strange.

If anyone has one please let me know.
