I bought a front end for a early model MC21 to put on my mc18. The one from my bike had 2 pinch bolts that hold the front axle at the bottom of the fork slider, where the replacement only has one. This also meant that the axle was slightly longer on the mc18 forks. Did the mc18 have 2 pinch bolts for holding the axle? What model/year had a single bolt?
My 2 bolt lowers seem more stout and nicer so I may rebuild them if they are?
Thanks!
I think all the 18's had 2 pinch bolts and the 21's only 1, thats the only diffrence in the forks anyway. the axel sounds about right that the 18 is longer but cant remeber on the 18 i had!
I did the samething to my mc18. Yes the front axle on the mc-18 is longer. The only diffrence is that the bottom of the fork legs are a little thicker. I had to use a couple of spacers (washers) and grind a little off the axle. I would try to find the axle for the 21 forks. _________________
