mc16 stalling question

Fri May 19, 2006 2:44 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Any suggestions on what may be wrong with my mc16, the bike starts fine and the engine runs fine but when I come to a stop go to neutral and when ready to leave again the bike just stalls. It will start right up but will continue with the same problem the engine will just bogg down and the bike will not move. Any suggestions on what might possibly be wrong with my bike will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
Eddie

Are you giving it a good thrash so that it clears itself out, they will cough and splutter if you dont let them get into the power and clear themselves. At least mine does.

So, you ride the bike, come to a stop and select neutral, release the clutch and the engine still runs?

Then you pull in the clutch and select a gear, whereupon the engine stalls?

Hi,

If the above is true it could be clutch drag causing it to stall, mine does that a bit (MC16), I have to blip the throttle a bit as I kick it into 1st gear when stationary, and you can feel the drag, I think the clutch on mine is on the way out, because if I adjust the clutch so there is no drag when fully in, it slips under power at high revs...

Mat.

I beleive that it is probably a clutch problem I am not 100% sure that is why I was asking for advise. All of the advise seems to be pointing at the clutch. thanks guys
