front sprocket size for 18?

whats the best front sprocket size for my 18? im goin to use my 18 for quarter mile races. the track is about 100 meters flat but the rest up to the finish line is steep uphill..im goin to use the stock rear sprocket.tnx!

I'm surprised you're using the standard rear. You'll end up needing a front sprocket so big it won't go inside the sprocket cover!

I'd certainly start by leaving the front standard and going to a 43 on the rear. If you go down too many you'll run out of revs before you've got 50m!

do you get better acceleration if you lose 1 tooth on the front sprocket?
