Help !!! Is it an NS 250 R or F ??

Sun Jul 30, 2006 6:15 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Guys I am looking for some help to identify the model of a ratty NS250 I just brought. The frame number starts MC11-101 & the engine number starts MC11E-111. I am trying to work out if this bike started its life as an R or an F model. It has different designed wheels to the 400s I have seen. Any help with this would be great !!! Shocked Question

If it's an unfaired model with a single round headlamp and six spoke boomarang comstar wheels it's likely to the F model. The F model also has an underslung braced swingarm. The R is fully faired with six-spoke star Comstar wheels and looks basically like an NS400R minus the lower right exhaust. Hope this helps

Thanks very much for that. It would appear it is an F model. Now all I need is some photos of how it should look so I can return it to its former glory......any ideas where to locate those ??? Rolling Eyes

Ooh, a bit harsh Matt!! Laughing

If it weren't for the NS... Honda would never have realised what a pile of crap the ATAC was and designed the RC Valve!! Very Happy

Anyway, I remember you tinkering with the idea of an NS250 motor in an NSR frame (with pipe out the bum, Katoh style) not all that long ago! Wink

That's very true Mis-er-ter Andy, I was indeed thinking of it. And where did I go looking for the engines? The scrappy! Just couldn't part with cash for a lump of rust and corroded aluminium Sad

I too was thinking of making a Katoh rep outta an NS250 engine in an NSR frame. But then woke up and realised I'd spend a lot of money making the NSR heavier and slower!....not to mention NS250 engines are supa rare.

Would have been trick though. Wink
