Motobrio, a bike shop baised in Hawick in the scottish borders, have been running themed nights on the 4th wednesday of each month throughout the summer. On Sept 27th they are having a 2 stroke night, old and new will be made welcome( bikes and riders ). I will be making the journey down from Ayr, approx 110 miles each way with a friend who is currently dragging a KR-1S out of hibernation. They will have tea/coffee/soft drinks and hot food(pies I hope!!) available on the night plus the roads in the borders are among the best in the UK. Any other Scottish/ N.English hardy souls interested? Hawick is about 30miles from Carlisle and Newcastle. For more details see...
Here we could ride up Andy! It would be quite good fun. It must be about 9 or 10 hours ride each way.... so that will be about £200 worth of fuel each.
Joking aside I would love to do something like that but I think it will cost too much. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
That's not as far from me as you are Steve, if people are going I would.
For you it'd only be 150 miles more round trip than I did this weekend, and I'll be down again next weekend!
Not really practical on the bikes though, it's going to be a rear tyre each and a good 5 litres of oil (less on a 3xv, but that's mainly because it wouldn't make it much past the Tamar Bridge ) _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Yeah I wouldn't trust going far on a 3XV, even the 45bhp ones cant hang together for long it seems. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Nice to see something oop north too! Fantastic part of the world.
Anything up here before this? Just about confident enough to let mine loose on the world now, having got home without the RAC on Sunday! (home page Campsa rep)
Anyone fancy an early Sunday breakfast in Bridlington run? _________________ if it had a tail - it would wag
This should give a list of b+b or hotels if you are interested in staying the night, then again, once all the local lassies see "real" race reps you might not be short of offers _________________ it's a name, not a condition
anybody riding up, seriously recomend the A69 / A68 route, fill up on the A69 or begining of A68 before hand as there isnt many fuel stations on the way seriously fun road, OR A7 bit wider and more flowing but just as good.
Anybody staying up that way and wanting a run, Moffot to Leadburn on the a701 is wonderful, or the selkirk to maffot round the lake is awsome.
I wont chip in yet, id love to go but work makes it hard to get away, maybe closer to the time. ill have a good idea whats on and if i can get time off.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED, i spent 5 years in the boarders, there isnt much better!
just a reminder that it is this wednesday night in hawick. I will still be on the nsr but my kr riding mate can't get his running and will be on his girlfriends HD 883. Won't be there if it is raining though.... not cause I am a girl that doesn't ride in the wet but because the front cly. starts to miss when it catches all the spray from the front wheel. should be an easy enough fix but as I can't find the time to clean it recently..... _________________ it's a name, not a condition
