Need front fairings for MC18...Best place to find them????

Mon Jul 31, 2006 5:53 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Just picked up another NSR!!!! Did I catch the bug or what???? Shocked

It was formerly an early MC18 Repsol Replica, but in the early '90's was converted into a trackday bike and is missing its lower fairings. Im hoping one of you guys has an "extra" set laying around that you wouldn't mind parting with??? If not, where is the best place to find them?? I am not looking for perfect or new as it is still going to remain a trackday bike.

The bike still has a fiberglass upper fairing, but its an aftermarket part of unknown origin (has one round headlight hole offset to the side? Question ) and its unlikely that any lowers I find would bolt right on so that's why the request for a full front fairing.

I am basically looking for solid stuff, paint not important....I dont mind repairing minor cracks. Just as long as all the pieces are all there, I will be able to plastic weld it (if original Honda Plastic) or fiberglass repair it (if aftermarket)
Any help is truly appreciated!! Thank you, Cody

R2J and R5K lowers differ quite abit, I might have some damaged R5K lowers kicking around.

Thanks for the quick replies guys..

I believe it has the R2J style (earlier) upper fairing so I dont think the R5K's will fit?? Looks like where the upper and lowers meet is quite a bit difference between the models?

I just took a couple of pics to give you guys a better idea of what I need. She is pretty UGLY right now, but there's a diamond underneath..... I hope.

16 or R2 lowers should fit to that top no trouble. Look on eBay for some 16 ones, in the buy it now section.

cool, gives me a few more options then. Thanks for the ebay tip.
I emailed the seller with the fairings to see if he had the center cowl as well and to get a shipping quote to Minnesota

oh, I also am looking for that little rubber damper grommet (or whatever you call it Embarassed ) that isolates the rear of the fuel tank from the frame.

I have the MC21 partsbook and the part# is 17613-KV3-700.

I need the damper for the MC18 though and do not know if it uses the same part?

Im sure there are a bunch more things I'll be begging for sooner than later.

thanks again guys.
