As far as we know, it's all done in the box. The HRC unit also advances the timing, so best not to muck around with other wiring mods for fear of making it go pop.
I run one with no other wiring mods and had 63hp out of it with just a few other bolt on bits (pipes, modded air box, HRC jet kit). _________________ MC21SP Plaything

There's two parts to it really. There's a complete harness which lacks all the sub sections for lights and indicators, then there's the bit which has the box of tricks, which is on a short loom and plugs into the PGM and the HRC loom.
To fit it to a standard NSR loom, you need to change the plugs as they're different to the standard issue. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

If you want to run an HRC box with the stock loom then there's lots of splicing necessary.
Alternatively you could just do the O/Bu splice and throw the HRC box in the bin.
No better than that, get a bloody big hammer (I've got a couple spare) and smash that box to bits . Then you can check out how HRC perform their magic.
Didn't realise you held them boxes in such low esteem?
I've been advised NOT to do any splicing because of the advance built into the box. Do you have new / better info? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Is that definately true Matt?
Andy and I were talking about this only at the weekend, he's making 65+bhp without the box and was on about trying to get some back to back testing done to see what it really does, if anything.
So what is the wiring/PGM of choice?
PGM2 '18 spliced?
PGM3 '21 spliced?
PGM3 '21 HRC box
PGM3 '21 HRC box and spliced?
PGM4 '28 HRC card? _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
well I got the jetting sorted t and it does fly.
can't say if either is better since I only tried the hrc box.
my arse dyno thinks it is putting out mid 50s
PGMII NH3 is pretty good, but is the choice of the radical racer. Has a wire inside that can be snipped to retard the ignition.
PGMII spliced is also good, but more retarded than F3 PGMII. Has the same wire inside as the F3 ECU, but does nothing when snipped in either standard or spliced format.
PGMIII spliced is probably the choice of champions, in my humble opinion. Couldn't find anything inside to snip so didn't.
PGMIV is a pain in the ring 'cos of the expence of the card, but I've had 75hp out of a heavily modded 28 with an 010 card, on avgas and an extra half degree of advance. Didn't even open box with the intention of cutting any wires 'cos Paul would shoot me if I mess up a PiGMyIV
What would I use? F3 PGMII. Why? Because I have a few
What would I recommend? PGMIII spliced. Why? Because they work well and are reliable(ish).
