Well this was a tough one.4 races on the mc 21 some of our faster f3 racers here on the 3rd oct, positions were down this time to 7th,9th,11th and 10th found the going a bit tough this time guess I need to ride faster.Field of 20 bikes not including the GP 125's(boy they are fast)new rules here allow big bore 400's to 450's and it makes a big difference they leave you for dead on the straights and Puke has a couple of long ones. The club also allowed a Duc 900 2 valve air colled 900ss in.There were 3 2 strokes at the meet 1 aprilia rs 250 an rgv and me.The rgv was not very quick but the rs 250 made second and left me for dead he was pretty consistant 2nd's and thirds. No probs with the MC 21 till last lap when I think the bike had a nip on the hair pin and locked the rear wheel up so something to fix before the next round. The bike is doing some serious grounding including the exhasts so it will be off for a rebuild as I think the damping is of and is to be expected of a ten year old shock!.The set up is as follows 1 HRC wiring loom 2 SP sus front and rear 3 Super Corsas front and rear 4 braided hoses and EBC hh pads(they seem to be eating the front discs nicely) 4 Jha carb kit 5 HRC reed blocks reeds and stuffers 6 Top cylinder head to front conversion and no thermostat 7 magtek wheels 8 Early i think Ethos steel pipes 9 open air box.
So the bike runs fine the final gearing is 15/38 and the bike pulls the front up very quick at the starts, so lots of clutch is needed to keep you going forward but the 4 strokes have it better there. No bad manners in the handling even with the forks dropped 14mm,no need for a steering damper.Corners great lean it over till every thing drags and it still feels fine.Brakes are great and the change to the EBC hh pads was a good move lots more feel and more progressive build up but you have to be careful!very easy to lift the rear end at the hair pin.Now all I need to do is work on my overtakes speed up the esses and find about 4 more hp.Will be getting the JHA head kit and I have a pair of spare cylinders Tyga guys say you can open up the exhaust port at the top, any experience with this one people?.A good day all in all ,any more idears for mor hp out there?
sounds like your bikes going well , i'm racing mine at ruapuna this weekend , first round of their club series , so we'll see how it goes.
