I have been looking for either of these bikes in Canada and am having no luck. There is a feloow that imports used ones from Thailand but he is 3000 miles away on the other side of the country and won't crate and ship. There was one on Ebay near me but it's a 1997 VFR400 with the old style skinny frame and the guy is asking too much for it anyway.

I read about some Thailand trading site that will ship you a bike but I'm afraid to send my money across the globe and hope for the best. Anyone ever deal with these people or anyone else like them?

If anyone has any leads or suggestions for me I'd be very interested.

have you tried importing one alot of times the pics are lot nicer than what you get and shipping is akiller and the trouble to register and then let me know if the price i emailed you is to much u could inspect before u buy. the guy that you think was asking too much

I looked into importing one and you're right, It's a hot and miss situation and I'm not confortable buying something on the other side of the globe while I'm here. I mean really.... what the hell would I do if they sent me a peice of junk?

I do, however, see NSR's, VFR's and TZR's for sale in the U.S and sometimes in Canada, mostly in Vancouver and they all sell for 3000 - 4000. A place in Vancouver imports them and sells them for 3800-4500 and they are newer and nicer.

So... I'm in no rush. I'll keep looking until I find something for 3500 max ... 4500 for somrthing nice... because I see other's have done it. No reason I can't.

I like your bike but it's 20 years old and for that kind of cash (maybe a little more) I can buy an older R6, CBR, NINJA ect... if I look hard enough. Also, it has that older thinner frame and I'm very interested in having the newer fatter style of frame. I might hang an RZ350 motor in it someday also.

i would love to get one of these as well...where is this shop in vancouver? i also know of one on the east coast that gets them in from time to time (but none right now). how about any news you get quantum send my way (a fellow canuck from the east side). i am in the same price range as you seem to be.
