Tyga SS Pipes main jet Question

Mon Nov 20, 2006 10:19 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Guys

I am about to fit the carbs on my MC21 but i was wonder is 145 main jets ok for Tyga ss pipes and stock airfilter? or their too much. I know that it depends from many factors but what do you think starting from there?

If anything I'd have though it stood a chance of being a tad lean if you've done the airbox mod and the wire splice.

Matt went to 150 for their MC21 power up project, and Thailand is bloody warm, I'd go to 155 at least.

Cheers

I am thinking of staying with the stock air filter (No modifications) at the present time Only wire splice. Or you think i will benefit by a mod airbox and 155 mains

Here is Cyprus is pretty hot at summer time round 38c.

Always better to start rich!

You can work down, but you can't always work up!

I'm afraid you'll never catch me quoting jet sizes - too much at stake! Smile

The closest I ever came was saying mine was 170-something in a thread a few months ago.

In fact, I normally lock threads that start talking about explicit jet sizes, as there are so many variables...

Blah blah bla-bla blah! (We've been here so many times!!) Smile

James, when I was in Cyprus it was bloody hot, just like here really but without quite so much humidity. Try starting around the 155 mark, with pipes, wire splice and modified airbox.

Be sure to check the jetting immediately though. Don't just hoon off down the road thinking that all is well.

Thanks Matt, Andy

Will start from there and see, is true that you can't give clear answers on this matter and this has been discussed over and over again. This has to be tested in practice and not on words

Thanks for all the help guys
