I know what it's like. Had to put a few pets up down, and had one killed in an RTA. Makes you choke up seeing em pass away in front of your eyes. Sad day indeed mate......

Really sorry to hear that Dave. I went through the same thing last year when my 14 year old border collie died. I'd had her since she was 6 weeks old. I still have a caricature of her airbrushed on the back of my Arai!

Sorry to hear this Dave.

My Chocolate Labrador, Chester (where I got the screen name from) is nearly 13 now. Getting really wobbly on his legs now.
We`ve had him since he was 7, someone I worked with wanted to let him go???
He`s a bloody great dog. Going to break my heart one day.

Very sorry, Dave. I went through the same thing years ago with my black cocker spaniel (Sir Humphrey Strutter, aka Humph) and remember well the sense of loss. Hang in there.

Thanks fellas.

He was perfectly fit and healthy a week ago. I went abroad for one night and he stayed with a friend. He managed to swallow a bit of plastic dog toy they let him chew, and they didn't notice bits were missing. He got worse over a couple of days until I realized something was definitely not right and took him to the vet. It had lodged in his lower instestine, and it seems he's always had a delicate tum as the stitches just wouldn't hold. Poor chap endured two ops but was too weak inside to pull through. Crying or Very sad

Just glad I was there.

And Fontyyy, good point - was feeling a little raw.

Sorry to hear that Dave I have a Wippet cross Colly, we have had him for 7 year's now and got him when he was a few month's old and it like having another kid.I dont want to ever think about him passing away as it will be a very sad day for all of my family when he does. They may only be animal's but they have a way of finding a big place in your heart.
