Will these bits fit here?

Mon Dec 25, 2006 11:41 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Merry Christmas from NZ, where we are recovered from our hangovers already because we are GMT+13!

My MC-21 has suffered a big end bearing failure, with the resultant debris doing quite a bit of damage on its way out.

Another guy here in NZ has for sale a complete second-hand MC-18 crank and new original crankshaft bearings, seals, big end rollers bearings etc which he kept in stock for his racer.

Can anyone tell me please if these will go straight into my MC-21 cases? I know that they are both MC-16E engines, but my experience with Japanese cars makes me a bit nervous about making an offer on these parts until I'm confident they will go straight in

Any advice you have would be appreciated

Thanks
Richard

Even though all cases are marked up MC16 the internals are very different. MC16/18 cranks are not interchangeable with the later mc21/28.

Shouldn't that make you GMT - 11? After all, once you've passed half way, you're on the way back...

Close mate, but no cigar. That my son, would mean that today is really only yesterday and you guys would get to New Years eve before us! And we all know thats bollocks. I'll be over my hangover before you guys then as well.

Youre right, normally we are just +12, but now its glorious summer we have daylight saving thus making us GMT+13.
