Tires and Speed Meter Question

Wed Jan 03, 2007 1:13 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Guys,

I just got a few question.. I am cleaning the meters on my MC 18 an it got me curious. I opened it and clean the inside.. It got 14000++ in the odo and it got me thingking if the previous owner tampered with the odo to get it back to 14000+, Because I know that the crank is up to 30000+ km. It is possible to tamper with the meter by pusing the dial or twisting it back?

And about the tires, will the Michelin Pilot Sport Road 160/60 R18 fit in the my MC18? because the original is only 150/60 R18, will the 160 hit something on the side like the chains or the chain guard.

Thanks..

Yep, you can flick the mileage round real easy, just as you "suggest".
Don't know about the tyre, on the later 17" '21 and '28's the 160's fit but it doesn't handle quite as sweet on them.

Changing the milage is very easy. Of course, it may be that someone has altered it to read miles having fitted a Motrax converter...
