Well gang, thought that I'd just drop you a quickie to say that the project "extreme 300 violence" has sort of come to completion.
Finally nailed on the fairing yesterday and took the beast out for public viewing.
The old iron got a little warm kerb crawling through the sleaze, so had to take it to the main highway for a bit of a hoon.
This puppy will dismiss any myths about a 300cc not having a powerband. It's freaking crazy
The list of mods is long and tedious so I won't go into it here, but I do have some reasonable pictures now, so as soon as Paul's got some free time I'll ask him to stick them up on the site.
I'll also send some pics to Andy 'cos being a sad git I'm a little peeved that my poor baby has slipped down the board on the poser league, so hopefully the latest spec should see it claw it's way back up a place or two.
I'll try to stick a couple of pics on that phot bucket thingy site so if anyone's interested they can take a beak.
Thanks to the earthquake that damaged undersea cables I had great problems and lots of stress trying to upload the pics. So I gave up. Patience with the internet is something that I struggle with.
Anyway, I just sent pics to His Majesty the Grantster along with a spec sheet. I expect to kick ass in the poser league and if it doesn't then Andy'll have some serious explaining to do when he comes out here to TYGA land. Was it my round or yours Andy?
Well, whatever the outcome I love it. It's almost there.
Lets at least have the dyno curve !!
Or all NSR300 info be banned from the site _________________ Poul

I feel rougher than a 17 year old Devonport girl at the moment, but I'll upload the pictures ASAP and add it all to Posers.
There are some trick parts there Matt, nice to see you following our example! Shame there's no straight cut primary like my MC16! _________________ Andy.

Yes, Info and pics paaaahlease!!! I just tore into my motor to prep it for the 300 kit so some specs would be cool to base it on. Debating if I should match the cases or just slap them on. Can't wait!!!!! _________________ MC21 300R w/SE bits, Rossi 2001

This isn't any ordinary 300 though, so it's not like there will be much to base yours on John, apart from the frame!
It's more of a demonstration of what can be done to one, given enough money, resources, and technical capability. I don't expect many of the modifications to make it to production, if any, to be honest. _________________ Andy.

What do you think about match porting the cases and barrels? Is it worth it? I almost wanna just slap it on and ride already. This 28 I've been riding don't do it like the 21.... _________________ MC21 300R w/SE bits, Rossi 2001

If you have the time you should match the cases to transfers. This costs nothing but your time and you could do it with an old grinding bit in a drill if you didn't have the right (expensive) tools.
No dyno graphs yet. It's all been done with seat of the pants, and EGT gauges. Dyno is hopefully this weekend if the old boy is kind enough to let me on. I've got different head inserts to play with, some different fuels, and I'll have a fiddle with ignition timing
Of some of the parts used, the VHM heads and special pistons will become and option (probably), but I'm still waiting for the costs of the pistons from Wiseco. They won't be cheap as I have to pay for the new forging tools
Concerning the straight cut primary gears, it looks like I'll have to get my thinking cap out again. I've got a set of NF5 56/23 gears. Maybe I can get those cogs on somehow. That'd give me a fraction shorter gearing overall, so I might have to refit that 15T front. Hmmmm
Do you need any mods to the VHM heads for the 300 kit?? What inserts are available? I need 85bhp this year...
From memory I think the 300 pistons are about 25% heavier than stock NSR aren't they? Sooooo, if the Wiseco's get back to the stock weight, then that will make me a very happy man! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
