hello
i have a mc28 and i would like to put some carbon cans on for the summer i am running the gearbox-plug and pgm splice mods. i have about £150-£200 to spend any ideas?. i am looking for smoothish power not all top end like the rgv.
thanks
Swarbrick Racing is the easiest option in the UK, I ran his cans on my MC21 for a couple of years.
They sound nice - not too loud, and are (well, were!) well priced. They are also hand-made by Mr. Swarbrick himself!
Current cost is £135 + VAT and shipping a pair.
You could also order TYGA Performance or Jha or similar, but remember you'll have to pay overseas shipping charges and possibly import duty as well as the VAT.
You are not going to find much of a performance increase just by changing the cans. You really need a full exhaust.
From an engineering standpoint, I think Tyga and HARC PRO (they make TSR's pipes also) has it wrapped up. Their pipes are excellent! The newest JHA and Dogfight pipes are just as good, but the older sets are lacking a little. For the money, though, the Tyga's are hard to beat. _________________ Paul Herr

I fitted a set of swarbrick cans to my MC18R5K. Back to back againest the stock cans they made the same peak power but increased peak torque and added about 2bhp to around 8,000rpm - 10,000rpm. The only real bad thing was I lost about 500rpm of over rev which I couldnt seem to get back no matter what jetting i tryed. Ive got full use of our dyno but still couldnt get it back. Ive gone for a full tyga set up now and hope to have them for next week.
Paul, I was going to remark about the TYGA pipes too, but 'nsrmonkey' only has £150-200 to spend.
Even with the great exchange rate we're getting in the UK, the £308 for TYGA pipes soon adds up to a fair wedge more than £200 after you've added shipping, VAT, and import duty... he'd be looking at around £450.
Like you, I'd recommend a full system, and recommend that he saves a little longer, but if cans are what he's after, Swarbrick are the best option in the UK.
Maybe StevenRC45 would sell him his Swarbricks when his TYGA pipes arrive?!
lol Andy.. I would do but but when i fell off i put a dent into the left hand can so i think they are scrap now. The aluminium outters are very thin and didnt take well to being crashed. lol i could have one swarbrick can for sale?
