Said WTF.... Hit the BUY IT NOW and, well, see it yourself and tell me how I did...
Item number: 120135304243

It's not correct in the paint scheme, I know... And the wheels are stupid...
But it's a real SE I'm guessing with dry clutch, Enkei wheels, correct shock....and look at those forks !!!

Picking it up tomorrow, hopefully I can get it going and get to the track this year...

Steve

but no frame? I guess is good if you have a extra frame or just buying it for the parts.

"except the frame.this is a parts only auction "

good find. I search ebay almost daily for nsr's, but somehow missed that one!

I wonder what he was going to do with just the frame, anyway?

I think it was listed as a parts bike, as I get email notifications on NSR's and never got one on that bike. Also it was listed like this, NSR-250, doesn't search the same I guess.
On the frame, he was scared of getting in trouble with US Customs and the NHTSA, since the bike was imported as a temp. race vehicle. Must be exported or destroyed(by customs) within 1 year.... He wanted to keep it so he could show the bike was "destroyed" if need be. Whatever, I'm leaving in 45min to go get it....Hopefully it doesn't get taken from me someday. Smile

Well, it may have not been a steal after all.... Engine is locked !!! At least I get to tear into an NSR, and not my good one...
I'm looking foward to learning more about these bikes through a first hand rebuild.
The body however, is in very good shape, yeah the paint isn't correct but does look really clean. I'll probably get the wheel spokes painted or powder coated white instead of that terrible green(looks worse in person), rebuild the forks and engine.. Hopefully it will all work out and be a good track bike, but probabaly for next year.
I'll be keeping you all posted and probably looking for help as well.
