Cyl. wear - How much is too much ?

I was pretty set on reusing the cyl's on this new 21 project, but am a little affraid of building a time bomb.

In both cyl's, you can still see the cross hach(?) pattern almost every where.
Almost cause where the piston rings stop at both ends it barely vissible. Ther are no ridges or flaking either.

Use or not to use? That is the question

If there's no flaking or cracking then you're probably good to go.

Best plan is to measure it up and see what sort of piston/bore clearance you've got.

OK.... That's a good thing. So do you think I could use the whole set up again if I get the pistons and cyl's measured by a pro and they check out good? Would I ust the rings that were in it? If fitting new rings, do you have to scuff up the walls so they will seat???
I'll still need a fresh crank and all the seals... I've got to figure this out, I'm ready to get some parts and get this thing together !!!!

I would fit new rings if I were you.

You should give the cylinder a bit of a clean up with a ball hone. These are great and don't do any damage to the ports (as long as you're careful).

Ther ball hone helps put the honing marks back in, which help break the rings in for a good seal.
