I purchased my lovely MC21R last week, what a pocket rocket
one little problem, there seems to be petrol & oil leaking from somwhere
The guy that owned it before me ran on premix, He put the oil pump back on for me just before i purchased.
There was some fuel left in the tank so I filled up to dilute the premix & also filled the oil up with fully synthetic.
I have stripped the bike down & checked to see if any loose bolts around the reed block & carbs.
All seemed fine. Went to use this evening and as I was taking out the garage a trail of oil / petrol. The oil looks v fresh.
As a newby I at a lose, could it be a gasket or adding the oil pump??
there are pipes going to the carb and elseware on the nsr's so check on the carb that they are conected and that theres no holes in them, are all the screws on the pump torqued? if its petrol check the pipe maybe theres dirt in the carb float bowl keeping the float needle open drain half a litre thru each if it looks like it could be if not strip the carbs and clean them dont disturb the settings if possible tho.

What about from the pump to the inlet manifold? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

If the leak is more oil than petrol, my guess would be that the guy forgot to put back the oil seal back on the oil pump shaft. This'll mean that the cases fill up with 2-stroke oil and comes outta the overflow pipe. Happened to me. It's an easy fix , just need to order up a new seal, check the Online Part Manual on this site.
The tell tail sign is opening up the gearbox oil top-up plug (???) and see if load of oil spills out, i.e. it's over full.
