It's that time of year again, when all our hard working racers get there 2 seconds of coverage (if they are lucky!). So if you want to change this, then go to the BBC Sports web page and vote, I've voted for Chaz Davies, top 250 runner in GP'S, challenging the factory boys on his private bike
Who will you vote for?
Dont bother voting!!
It has already been decided.
Kelly Holmes won it.
BBC SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR 2004 is a misdescription as none of them have a personality.
Look at the past winners.
"Steve Redgrave"
"Nigel Mansell" etc
I rest my case.
I do love it when guests post. I'd love it even more if they gave us some names! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

i,ll go along with the fact that most of the time it goes to people who have won naff all, but are in a high profile sport. when we had world champs in lesser supported sports over looked. but you cannot knock steve redgrave for what hes done. and if kelly holmes wins, at least she won some golds this year.
Seventeen year-old Chaz Davies has been nominated for the Welsh Young Sportsman of the Year Award.
The ceremony takes place in Cardiff this evening (Monday) and Davies, who put in some outstanding performances on a privateer spec 250cc KF Club Aprilia at the end of this season, has been nominated as a possible winner.
Chaz, familiar to Crash.net viewers through his 'Chaz checks in' rider column, is still weighing up his options for next year and is keen to have the most competitive machine as possible to compete in the 250cc World Championship.
"I still have an open mind about next year, but we are seeking the best machine available for me to ride next year after such a brilliant end to this season," he said. _________________ Chaz Davies Rules

A borderman you say? Well okay then. And I guess he's a biker so he can't be all bad.
And Pembrey is in Wales and that's a great circuit.
Still don't think he stands a chance against Kelly, us bikers are still a fringe outfit, and the TV coverage given to the Olympics will have guaranteed her the award - not that she doesn't deserve it. The training and dedication that must have gone in to winning those gongs must rival anything that Chaz has endured so far. Plus, he's young enough that the only way is up - just hope we / they can support the guy long enough to get into the big league... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Like Dave says, anyone who makes it to the top of their sport deserves recognition, but what about Foggy? Now I'm not his biggest fan, far from it, but I was amazed he never got a mention after his WSB successes! 4 WSB titles, with 2 back-to-back seasons? Come on, what did the guy have to do? Hell, if he'd been on a 500 2-stroke I may have slipped from fanatic to radical!!
Little chance for Chaz then I'm afraid to say. Best of luck to him though.
