Quote from e-mail "Tyler we have only one MC21 available on hand. The pics attached are of the bike in the process of getting repaint to the lowers and tail. The tank and fender were repainted and cleared but for the price difference it makes more sense to repaint the whole thing and make it really nice. The price in the original condition with the repainted tank and fender is $5000.00 when/if we paint the price will be $5500.00
Bike is titled but you pay the FL transfer and taxes (6.5%) it is an SE (dry Clutch) with 17,000KM always stock never raced or safety wired."
Pics....

Where are the lights? I think the price is too high. The motor is tired with 17K and the bodywork is very rough. _________________ james

I just noticed it has two left fairings and no right fairings. _________________ james

Body work and looks are the last thing you should think about when buying an NSR.
Worry more about the engine, frame, suspension, etc. first. Getting body work cleaned up is easy compared to trying to fix a roach of a bike.
As someone pointed out there are two left side fairings, find out if that was an error for the photo, or not. I would save the $500.00 on the paint and take it as is. Also, make sure he has headlights, tail lights, etc. That way you can at least run it when you get it.
Who are you dealing with? If it's some one not on the Forum or email list I would be VERY VERY careful. Don't send money, go do the deal in person. Make a weekend out of it (it's only down in Florida).
The engine could be tired, but at 17000 kilometers on the clocks, I would find out when the last top end was done. The cranks are recommended to be redone at 30000km, so you have some time for that (oh my NSR went out pretty much right at 30000).
When you go to look at the bike do a decent inspection. Pull the pipes, look up the exhaust ports to get an idea on the pistons, cylinders and heads condition.
Check steering head bearings, wheel bearings, etc. On a bike this old your going to expect that you need to do some work, but you need to figure out in your mind just how much and make your own well informed decision.
Make sure it kicks over, runs good and strong and you should be fine. _________________ Charles Gallant

On the other hand, I have a rather crap HK one!!
I do custom painting and it has gotten expensive in California what with the clean air laws. I didn't do this one but to give you guys an idea this was $1000us. No runs, no imperfection top shelf paint with no HK touches.
The customer didn't want an original scheme but an original feel to it.
I don't really think "roaches", "lemons". "pups" or anything other word used to imply the bike will never be good can really be applied to an NSR because they are so easy to work on.
The '28 I bought on Ebay was more than a bit rough, 18" rear wheel, loom had been attacked with wire cutters for some reason, engine was full of 2t oil and clearly hadn't run for years, it'd been down on one side, bodywork was all but missing, the forks are from a '21 etc. etc. It was far worse than I'd hoped but no matter, a 2nd hand engine (ebay again) was just put in as I got it, a loom I'd got lying around, the old road kit from the race bike and this is the result.
And a $50 paint job looks like this, I'm sure for 10 times the price you could do better. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I know I kind of use working on my bikes as a form of therapy. 2 strokes just mean you get a longer session each week with the doctor _________________ Charles Gallant
At what point do you put the guest rider pad in the rubbish? That redish brown one has far exceeded that point.
IMHO thats way too much for that bike. Tattered examples like that can be had for 1500-2000 with some research.
