Good day felow NSR owners. I had a previous problem on my bike where the one plug was dead. I went and swoped for a new plug. I put the plug in and she was driving fine for about a few km's. Then the same side plug just died again. what could be the problem, should I take the carb off and redo the the carb, I now know that it is the left side of the carb if you sitting on the bike because that side feed the right side pipe.

Mr. KilaMC18, I dont really understand your issue but if you like we can hookup and chat. I'm in the Cape Town area 2, Somerset West 2b exact. I bought my baby MC18 at the beginin' of this year and have been restoring it since. I got it for a steal but had to do alot of wotk on it till now. Anyway, what plugs are you runing? If it is a B9ES or even a BR9ES (the "R" stands for resistor and is suggested to pair wit computer controlled engines like the MC18 onwards) you are (I'm very certain of this) experiancing plug fouling issues. My bike did the same thing.
The only remedy is to purchase any plug with a copper electrode like the BR9ECS, BR9ECM OR B9EG. All of those will work but try to get the R one. They are expensive at around R130 for the ECM/ECS but the EG is about R80. Again, try to get the "R". Post a reply here and we can discuss some more!
Thanks for the reply. I have no probs helping anyone out and do apreciate the replys. I stay in Bellville, Glenhaven. Just baught the bike from a fellow in Pinelands. Nice lad he is. Well, when the bike drives, she does it very leka. My first baby. Always used to working on cars but a 2 stroke is something I'm just grasping now. The bike still looks neat and does need a spray and so on, but I'm going to do that in deu time. Thanks alwyn I'll try the plug you sugested tomorow, I'm just scared that I go buy that expensive plug and then it bombs out too.

It's very difficult to pinpoint misfires unless the bike is running exact components as Honda intended. A bit like trying to sort carb issues when a bike's not running a standard airbox etc.
My advice is get it back totally stock (including reversing any wiresplice) and take it from there. As standard, every NSR works exceptionally well even if it only develops 40~45hp. If yours doesn't, then it's simply back to traditional fault-finding methods. _________________ Andy.
