NSR250SP ?

Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:37 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

i am in the market for a 96 NSR250SP and i would like to know what makes this bike more desireable then the yamaha tzr250sp, rgv250SP, or the aprilia rs250. a good friend of mines (harry okuda) told me that if i ever wanted a 250cc 2stroke to only get a honda NSR so i am taking his advice. thanks for all replys.

your friend harry okuda is absolutely right, NSR is the most reliable in its class. Quality wise as well

I agree, you need a VJ23 so that you can see just how good the NSR is.

We're still hoping to see you down this way some time Alan.

You're welcome to have a go on mine, which I honestly think will surprise you, but the F3 will blow your mind! Shocked Dave Elegy (who's VJ22 makes 70hp) rode it and was quite simply amazed!

Dave's VJ22 is simply the best RGV we've ever seen. The care he takes with it is huge. Running an avgas mix he was just under a hp down on the F3 running pump unleaded.

Here's the torque graph of the RGV vs the NSR both are running the same spec-ish motor.

Red of course being NSR Very Happy

i don,t suppose you know what head vols he used for avgas mix do you?.
I ask because thats what i,ll be running now instead of full avgas.
This year i ran a ccr of 7.03 to 1 and it was borderline on destruction with avgas.Head vols are 10>5 to halfway up plug hole with full av, i guess with mixed they,ll need to be 11 or 11.2 ish.

Sorry Alan I dont, I'm sure those helpful chaps on the RGV site have the answers though. The NSR runs much bigger volumes than that though.
