I have a TYGA 300 kit on the way for a bike we are building here - its come time to make some decisions about the rest of the build.
I have a pair of PJ38 Carbs that Id like to run - I have an RS125 intake rubber and some nice reed blocks ready to go. The reason I say I have one RS125 intake is you cant run two as the carbs are too close together - I believe I can solve this by using the equiv CR125 intake which is the same but has a slight curve in it. Depending on how much curve, I may need to run two of these facing away from each other?
This brings me to the airbox/tray/scoop dilemma... Does anyone have any ideas? Obviously the above setup wont fit into the stock airbox. Should I modify an RS one to suit? Im toying with the idea of building a tray for it similar to what we use in the VFR/RVF400 race bikes - or ultimately just an insulator like on an RS125... trouble is this is a road bike (albeit a Sunday toy) so itd be 'better' if it had a filter(s) of some sort.
You need the RS250 same era insulators which has the left hand one angled off further the to the left and I use the HRC/NSR world airbox, which is essentially a tray covering the whole engine under the carbs. Job done. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
Ive no luck finding those RS Insulators, but Ive found that the one out of my TM125MX is exactly right, so I have two of those on the way...
Whats this NSR-World airbox?
