Hey does anyone have an oil pump I can get from them? Mine appears to have been removed during its, er... re-acquisition and consequent return to me. I'll need the pump, solenoid and oil tank. pipes 'n things I can fashion myself.
I'll probably be shot down in flames for this totally unhelpful post, but are you seriously telling me someone stole your bike and then stole the oil pump off it?!
Sorry, I don't mean to be taking the piss (too much!) as I had my Golf GTi stolen a couple years ago so feel your pain, but it is a bit odd! _________________ Andy.

I came home after a night on the town, went into the garage and poof! no NSR. sh*t, sh*t, sh*t! phone the cops, my phone cuts out. Phone them again, and nobody answers. Wait a second! I just removed the rust outta the tank so there's only about half a cup of fuel in ther. Eureka! I get on my jacket, take my camera, gloves and head off down the road on foot. It's cold but I'm angry and want my stuff back! Maybe, just maybe I'll find it around here somwhere. About 4 hours later on the edge of the local town slum area at around 3:30 AM I spot something thru some hedges. MY BIKE! I honestly didnt think I'd find it anyway but there it was, parked on some knob-head's driveway behind a trailer. It appears that no-ones home or everyone is asleep, so I open the rusty gate slowly (after "lubricating" the super squeky hinges with sap from some tree leaves) and enter. Luckily the bike was rather close to the gate so no problems getting it to public "saftey". The sight I saw when I actually got to my machine was terrible. They had crashed my moto.
It appears the bike went down on the right hand side since half the top fairing plus the mirror was gone. The bike seems to have also fallen on the other side as the exhaust end-can was being held-on by a zip-tie. What a mess. For some reason the bottom three pieces of fairing were lying inside the trailer, undamaged, somewhat scrached but not screwd. The fuel filler cap aslo had some of it's hex-bolts missing, (the lock in the filler opens without the key now) they got inside it seems. A quick check revealed that the speedo drive and cable were missing including my entire oil system. They also removed my golden o-ring chain. At this point I was really hoping the motor didnt sieze or anything (I discoverd later that it had'nt).
I walked outside the property and phoned a guy I know who dirves tow-trucks. While I was waiting for him to arrive I took some photos of the scene (flash off!) to aid a police report. There was a street lamp right outside this guy's house which illuminated everything I needed ok, the bike was in the shadows but I linked it all together with nifty photography.
Anyway, I pushed the bike out to the "rendezvouz" were the tow truck would pick it up and collected the rest of the panels. I eventually got back to the house at exactly 7:10AM. What a night, geez!
The following day I found that my battery was missing, one of the front calipers' brake pads, my entire air filtration assembly and spark plugs. One of the bolts that hold the rear caliper in place was also broken off and my powervalves were hooked up in some weird way (I have another post that details the findings of this particular inspection).
That was about a little more that two or so months ago, I've been trying to get everything back to working order and have been riding the machine on 30:1 premix. It fouls the bike up too much though as it sprays the back with black oil. I am also concernd about not having enough lubrication coming down our town's mountain hills on compression only.
Just as a side note, the cops investigated the place and found it to be full of stolen items like outboard marine engines, a paraglider, the above mentioned trailer was also stolen, two cars and a host of other smaller things. I didnt get any of the missing parts back, nor did insurance pay out, aparently I wasnt adequately covered or some trash.
So thats the story guys! Hope this never happens to you! And if it does I hope you'll have same same luck I had in actually finding your stuff!
OH yeah, It's an MC18 so the pump would be an "early" type I suppose.
Why cant these scum bags die when they fall off.
save the tax payers cash...
Could even cremate them at the side of the road and sweep the ashes into the gutter it would save on a funeral.
Im glad you got your bike back. Best of luck getting all the bits you need.
That's appalling. Lucky you pulled a stealthy move to get the bike back rather than punching on in a drunken state. That said though, it'd be nice if more bike thieves copped a shovel to the head from a righteously angry bike owner. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once...
So I'm at the wife's place in Stoke Mandeville (Bucks) and I'm about to leave. It's knocking on 1am. I opened the front door and there's my bike (FZ600), parked on the path. Hmmm, thought I parked it in the drive Anyway....the mrs needs another quick smooch before I go, so I nip back indoors. 10 minutes later I opened the door to be greeted by.......nothing! I called the old Bill and set off up the road on foot like an Olympic sprinter, but after running this way and that I drew a blank.
One week later still nothing.
Then, after another few days, there's police chase past my house in the dead of night. Two speeding motorcyclists, lots of plod cars and bikes and a helicopter. Oh what a joy to behold.
Next day I get a call from the local constabulary. They've found my bike. It was used in a bank robbery in Swindon, and was chased through my home town of Wendover and finally crashed out just up the road in Aston Clinton.
The bike was pretty totalled, and I knew the urchin that stole it. He was fully aware it was my bike.
He got a really sound ticking off in court, and was ordered to pay me 200 quid in damages at a pound a week or something silly (I never received a bean). He had a hard upbringing, so they didn't want to be too heavy on him...poor lad. I wanted to smash all teeth out.
i hope you get sorted sometime soon. i should have all the bits you need as i converted my bike to pre-mix.
i had my dominator stolen by a local dickhead. it just so happend i was walking home with my 3 year old daughter at the time and noticed my motorbike coming towards me. i went to wave him down so he promply mounted the curb.
there was parked cars one side and a 3 ft wall the other, he was going a good 30 mph. i grabed the little-un and jumped over the wall!
there is no doubt in my mind that if i hadnt jumped he'd of killed at least one of us.
i found out who this guy was and was told to be wary of him as he was really tough when he had a knife in his hand! i mean this guy was 31 for gods sake and he still lived with his parents!!
i went round to his house and he was gone. im not proud to say but i threatend his parents and told them id torch their house for what he had done.
police couldnt find him either which frustrated me even more.
a month went by and still nothing untill..... one day i was arrested for a non payment of a fine (it was something ridiculous like £30 for speeding offence) . i got taken to the station and there wasnt enough cells to go round, i had to share. there he was, i couldnt beleive my eyes. the man who endangerd mine and my daughters life. i ****** him up and as soon i was released i got my money back for the bike too. (i had only owned the bike for 3 hours so hadnt even had time to insure it!)
the cops hadnt even realised he was wanted for tring to run me over and re-released him. they eventually picked him up and he was sent down for 18 months.
moral of the story.... if you sit back and let the police deal with things nothing will be done. theiving scum arent scared of a slap on the wrist and even if they do serve time they'll still steal someone else stuff as soon as they get out. but if you know where they are so go teach them a lesson, they'll think twice about doing it to somebody else _________________ wadda ya mean its too fast!
Hell YEAH! I'm so happy to hear that there are others out there who get in somewat similar situations like mine. I kinda thought as I was typing along "who the heck is REALLY gonna believ this story". I'm glad to hear (and say) we CAN get our own back. Not by going the wrong side of the law, pulling a piece and pumping some idiot full of lead like he was a Quake character.
Ma-tak-u, I'm relieved at the support in this case and don't feel alone with my "questionable" story anymore
Getting back to biz, Sand King 11, it'll be realy super cool if I can organize your removed parts once you get them off. Bike breakers over here just drone on and on about how no oil pump is the best oil pump. They're not entierly wrong but I'm trired of cleaning the black crap off my 18's rear after only 30km or so.
