G,day new to forum and new owner of an mc16 didint relaise these bikes are so popular. I have a slight problem when my bikes at idle my blinkers and dash lights flash like crazy when u bring the revs up it stops but then nothing works is this a common problem or is it somethig like a bad earth any help would be great?[/i][/b] Confused

oh ok my mc21 was doing that turned out flat battery was causing it, check the voltage

Will give it a go in the morning hope it is something that simple.Iam not to bad at throwing a spanner around but when it comes to electrics my brain has a melt down i dont even bother touching.

I'd put a multimeter across the battery terminals while the motor is running, and blip the throttle.

If the voltage isn't steady around about 14.2V, then it's most likely the regulator/rectifier.

hey mate about the flashy thing and not working thing after reving, my had the same problem, but was ok after i changed the batt. and regulator/rectifier. now it works fine. do be sure that the regulator/rectifier is working otherwise you will fry your batt, telling you this because i did brake one and didnt get the warrenty.

G,day all, got bike finally sorted out it was a battery took me awhile to fix as ive been a bit short of $$$$$ then those bloody carbys but now have them sorted out to. 2 new tyres this week and ready to put on road i cant wait to ride it (legaly) thanks to those who sent me in the right direction.
