at last im in to this wonderful site(thanks andy), i own a 1989 mc18, busted servo motor and RC valves are set to full open, powerless below 4K rpm but it rockets when it reaches 4K, the problem is when the bike was kept lets say for a week in the garage when started, it will hit 5K to 8K rpm for several seconds before it settle on 1200, is this normal?im still running with the oil pump. _________________ You dont earn respect in one day, you earn it day by day
okay thanks alan, there will be no problem i guess for the lubrication, unlike to a 4 stroke its a big no-no to hit that rpm on a cold start. _________________ You dont earn respect in one day, you earn it day by day
k3, I have the same "problem" with my mc18. I think its the computer that advances the ignition a little to heat the engine up quickly. Since you have a 2 stroke, its no problem. The oil pump has a solenoid attachd to it that increases the rate of oil flow to the carbs when cold to remedy cold-start wear.
Dont wory about it, its normal, but just check if your idle setls at 1500 +- when its hot.
yeah and it smokes like a fogging machine and the neigbors will be shouthing wutta****!!!! _________________ You dont earn respect in one day, you earn it day by day
