firstly, is there such thing as a 07 rs125.. or is it 06?
secondly, is it true that these beauties are the last of their kind?
thirdly, is it possible to adjust the chain slack without stands?
Honda did sell a limited number of RS125's in 07, as well as 06 and is planning on selling another round for 08.
Rumors are all we have at this time, and they are saying that 09 will be the last year Honda produces a 2-stroke RS (125 and 250). I guess we will need to see how things go.
Adjusting the chain will always be better/easier when there is no weight on the rear wheel, and the bext way to do that is to use a rear paddock stand. Since there is no kick stand on these bikes, you are pretty much going to need a rear stand to hold the bike up anyways, so you might as well have one. That and from what I understand, one comes stock with the RS125 (and 250) from HRC, so it should come with a used bike as well (of some flavor, HRC or other). _________________ Charles Gallant
04 was the last changes done to the Honda RS125.My bike which was bought new in 05 has 04 stampings on the cases and frame.I'm sure all of them will be the same.No change since 04 _________________ Steve Wenner

actually I think (need to verify) the model year was 03 that goes to at least 06 of the same bike (and carries into 07).
Each year HRC will release new versions of that same bike in a very limited number, so you can probably find a place (HRC USA also known as thousand oaks honda, as well as Rising Sun Cycles and some other vendors) that you can pre-order a new bike for 2008. This is true for 125's and 250's.
Last year they were expecting changes for the 250 (rumors is all they were), as they are also expecting those same changes for 08. I am doubting they will come out with anything but the same at this point. of course it's not like the RS250 and 125's are out dated as far as 2-strokes go _________________ Charles Gallant
errrkkk... thanks for the response fellas...
please forgive my ignorance but ive not heard of a honda rs.. until now... (i dnt believe they are road registerable here in NSW, australia)
i was actually referring to the aprilia rs 125... i also own a nsr 150... and intially thought wow... this website caters for both my babies?? how wrong was i...
correct me if im wrong, but as far as i know the nsr150 was the predecessor for the nsr125, but was made in honda's thai factory... this was beacause japan's strict environmental regulations (in the late 90's)... that means that the honda post 2000 rs125 and any japanese brand 2stroke for that matter ... could not have been made in japan...
can i also use this opportunity to ask anyone .... to direct me how to get my hands on a nsr150 workshop manual that is not written in thai!!!
The Honda RS125 and 250 are from the HRC factory. They are purpose built race bikes never designed or meant for public road useage. That means they don't have an electrical system to support things like brake lights, turn signals, head lights, etc.
Now that's not to say people havent made then street legal and reg'd them. Was it Tom from the UK that has a street'd RS250? I know Andy knows who it is.
As for the NSR125 manual, dont know. but someone should jump in with info. _________________ Charles Gallant

Hurry up and find a 125 if you want a new one. From what I hear you can't even order a new anymore.Anyone know any truth to it?I know Honda is supposed to pull the plug on them in 09. _________________ Steve Wenner

I had the AC29 a while back. I shouldn't have ever sold it. I raced an Aprilia 125 this last year, but not sure what 2008 will bring. Glad you're doing well. I know of a 500V, but they're in the $95k range.
Cheers,
