I take it that most of you know that Chaz has no offers for next year in 250's(any good ones) .He said that he has a good offer from a team in BSB,i dont know who.I dont see how a move to BSB will help,if he wins the BSB title look what happened to Hodgson and Shakey, the crap rides they got in Moto GP,And what about our very own world SB champ,he didnt know for a week after winning the title if he still had a job.Its about time Rob Mac took Bransons Virgin money and 2 British riders to Moto GP !!!
Chaz is at a cross road right now! He has an offer of joining Paul Bird's Honda squad. This is a good money earner for Chaz, it also cuts down on all his travelling costs. There is a very real possibility that Chaz will prove himself at this level and use this as a stepping stone into Moto GP. If he stays in 250 at the level of support that he has had so far, his chances of moving into the premier class are nil. Chaz does not earn money by riding in 250 and is looking towards his future. If you are not Spanish or Italian then I am afraid that unless you ride a Moto GP bike you cannot survive in the lower classes. Chaz has the ability(and has proved this already) he now needs factory support. He rode last year on an eight year old machine against superior works and semi works bikes. _________________ Hmmmmm!
How on earth can you say that movnig to BSB will hurt his future, are you on crack.
BSB is well respected around the world as being the next best championship any were after Moto GP, come on Rutter was a an HRC built bike just to try and dominate the series without much joy. Without it none of the Brits we had would have moved onto Moto Gp such as Renolyds, Walker, Emmet, Hodgson, Rutter himself had a spell on the Vtwin, Bayliss granted he is a Ausey but won the BSB title firts before his climb up on so on.
Paul Denning was moved over to replace gary taylor rather than some on from japan or Moto Gp now, Dave hagen builds WCM engines ex cresent spanner man and so on and so on.
Rather than be stuck on a privatere Aprillia he will be given a chance to make a name for himself on four stroke which is agreat training ground for GP1 with teams that are basically "factory", look at Vermulian BSB to WSB now lining up for MOTO GP honda. Sorry to rant on but I have worked in BSB and WSB, small scale overall but never the less I had a chance to see what the racing scene was all about and respect what it stood for.
Good luck to him, put some cash in his pocket and his name in the headlines.
i have to go along with luke on this one. chas will never get a good ride in 250gp. talent counts for nothing in the lower ranks of GPs anymore, its all money.untill someone put a large amount of cash behind him hes never gonna get the bike he needs
BSB is without doubt one of the top champiohships in the world, and a good place to showcase his talents . if he can win BSB at his age he will go on to better things.
its looking like we will have very little interest in GPs next year. i think the numbers at donny will be well down, and that will get dorna looking to find some brits a way into MOTO GP. they hate the fact that super bikes rule in the UK.
now where did i put that crack

gotta say i totally agree. i think british would be good for chaz, like you said look what its done for Shakey,Rutter,Baylis,Hodge etc.
i understand what you are saying about the spanish and italian teams and riders but that is the way it is..in those countrys motorsport and in particular (specially in spain) bike racing is massive more popular than football (imagine bike racing taking priority over football ) so there is always going to be people willing to chuck a load of money at the youngsters.
i dont like it i dont suppose anyone does really but i dont think its gonna change anytime soon ... tell ya what if i ever become a multi gazillionaire i promise to pave the way for a briitish world champ in moto GP _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

I think comparing hodgsons lack of success to chaz isn't a good comparison. I've lost all hope for hodgson after he effectively walked out on a motogp ride to go to AMA... That championship is arguably behind BSB and WSB for support, and the fact that Xaus rode the GP3 duke to some respectful finishes proves it wasn't the bike really... Jezza and shakey both agree the prilla is hard as fook to ride at the speed they to go, but their hearts lie firmly planted in gp's... Any other championship is a step down which most people. hodgson excluded, don't want to take.
I'm on crack Luke, love it! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
Now you have stopped kicking my arse !I agree with all you said, what i was trying to say is that until we get a British backed team in moto gp then what is there after bsb or world superbike for a british rider .
MotoGP is where everyone wants to be, and that is including Chaz Davies. Chaz is hoping to hear from his 2004 team if they have got better bikes for 2005. If his team have the better bikes for 2005 he will be in GP'S in 2005. If they can not get the better bikes Chaz will be going to Paul Birds BSB Team in 2005 _________________ Chaz Davies Rules
