HRC Card P-030

Sat Dec 01, 2007 5:06 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi...

I need your help on something before is got any worse... I have put a New HRC card for the MC28 model on eBay for sell... But received an email from an eBay member and told me that this card will work only with some PGM's and not with all the MC28's... If he is correct how can I know in which bikes this card can work...? Remember that this card is new...
I don't want to create any problems to any MC28 owner that he will buy the card from me and eventually won't work...
Thanks
Mixalisen

Any new card (HRC or stock) needs to be coded to the particular PGM unit that it is to be used with for security reasons.

got that from here : http://www.nsr-world.com/tuning/250-tuning/ignition/

John's correct. When an HRC card is ordered the supplier requires the PIN number (on a little silver sticker on the PGM-IV case behind the instrument cluster) to ensure it is coded correctly.

If any HRC (or stock) card worked with any MC28 PGM-IV you could imagine what problems it would create! Imagine a "one ignition key fits all MC21's" scenario... it would be like a step back in time to the era of RD125's and pennies for keys! lol

Ok...

I have just read the link that Fenton post... So if some one do the wire splice in the wiring harness the PGM will work with the HRC card... Is that correct...?

NO!

The card MUST be coded to the PGM-IV. The wire-spice purely enables an HRC card to work with a standard harness.

An HRC card CANNOT be re-coded to work with another PGM-IV... it's NOT an EPROM.

card key

Hi It was I who sent you the message through ebay maxalisen what I said was that the key will have number on the back of it, where you put the key into the ignition is the pgm unit and it must the same number as your key on the back of the pgm to run the bike .When you buy a key new you have to send the number on the back of your pgm unit to honda or tyga and they send out a key that is coded to you bike and pgm .If you selling it your hopeing someone out there has that number on the back of there pgm Rolling Eyes

No one codes them as far as I'm aware it's done by Honda before it's sent out, there should be a 5 figure number on the back, it suits PGMs with that number only.
I've got a brand new one for my road bike still in it's HRC bubblewrap, it's worthless to anyone else.

Guys thank you very much for all your help... I will cancel the auction as I don't find it honest to sell the card probably to a guy that just doesn’t know the above things you mention...
I really appreciate the help...
Oiley Nsr thanks for contact me...
