Crikey ! I wondered if that bike was still for sale...It's been in the Autotrader for maybe 6months now...I suppose if it's what you really want you pay the money.

Dave.

Running or not is almost irrelevent, it'll cost a few hundred quid at the most to sort even if it's seized. It probably hasn't run since it was on the road in Japan maybe 10 years ago so they probably just don't know wheather it runs or not. If the bodywork is o.e. and near mint it's value is whatever someone will pay for it, after all there were only 1000 ever made like it, some of that bodywork now will almost certainly be unobtainable and you could put up a very good case that it (a Rothmans MC21sp) was the best NSR of the lot ('21's "better" than '28's, SP's the one to have, Rothmans are the prettiest of all) and thus it is the NSR to own.

The value of '28's and 28sp's in particular has always been higher for some bizzare reason and recently has gone even higher still, wheather '21s sp or otherwise follow them is up to buyers, there are so few around the value can change very easily, if someone pays £4k+ for this then that's what a mint 21sp is worth today, what they were worth 2 years ago is of no concern.

my mate just bought the cabin nsr this afternoon. its still awaiting shipment from japan, but john at fastline has some photos and it looks as new. fastline have just got a 28 which is in the shop now at 4295, but im sure knowing john he'll knock a few quid off. its in the same colours as bd197, see boys new toy thread. we went to high barn, but didnt think the condition of their 21 warranted 4999.

The price is high since it may not be an SP. The rotors are the wrong color as well as the turn signals, and there is no HRC decal on the side panels. I can't seem to get the larger pictures to download.

Also has the wrong SP sticker on the tail and no directional sticker on the front wheel which would not seem conducive to a bike with only 5K Kms. Tires are not right either.

Look under the seat and on the sub-frame is the paint code decal. That will provide another clue if it is real (but its not a gaurenty since you can still buy the decal).

Your mate made a good choice PenrithNSR, I've seen the pics and it looks stunning, as it should with only 256Km on the clock Very Happy seeing it in the flesh would be better.

Have to agree, thats not original SP body work.

Before I knew what was what my first original bike was an Rothmans SP, minus magteks cause they were worth loads, i was poor they went, didnt care wheels are wheels.

Any how J911 is correct about the HRC sticker and the lines on the seat are wrong, I know as Iam holding an old piccy of my SP infront of me. Also the shade of blue is wrong they were a little bit darker than that as well. Ohh and my front idicators were white as well.

Another checker is that all the stickers were not laquared over except the tank, I know cause I peeled the stickers off to sand it all down for a re-spray. Embarassed

Not sure if was an option bit mine aslo had a honda tank pad stuck on like a m-----r f----r as i remember.

And it cost me 3k back in the day, oh Martin your the proud owner of the remains of that now.
