NSR 250 MC18 adivce needed

Wed Jan 30, 2008 5:42 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi peeps im new to this forum. I have a MC18 R5K in my garage which has not worked for oh 5 years. mainly cus I had another bike to use.

Basically its current state is the heads and cylinders have been removed. but few thingss i noticed when i striped it was the cable to the valve on the cylinder i assume is the power valve, correct me i im wrong. thats snaped and so has the thread. the cylinders are crack between the outlet.

basically im wanting to get it back on the road and was thinking of the tyga 300 kit as it has everything i need just need opinions on it if its worth doing or just restre it back to its 250 standard self.

or if you have any other ideas would be greatly appricated cheers peeps. Arrow

look on the tyga performance web site and you'll find everything you need! and they can answer any Q's you have about the 300 kit. Very Happy

The 300 kits are sold by Tyga performance and can be found under "links"

The MC18 is infact the best bottom end I believe to fit a 300 kit too. However, personaly I would stick to a 250.

cheers guys have been looking at that kit can you order from them direct or do you have to buy from a supplier in the uk. what probs am i likely to have ie fitting the carbs and exhausts etc they dont need any mods at all do they as i plan to do this in stages.

maybe next year buy some pipes for it.

You will really need a HRC jet kit and a set of tyga pipes to go with the kit.

You should be able to jet around the stock needles though if you want to retain the air box etc.

hmmm might have to have a rethink here. as that will cost over 1k with the 300 kit and zorsts. could buy a nsr for that lol.

can you fit any other swing arms on the mc18 frame ie the gull arm off the 21 or single sided off the 28. or off any other machine.
