Big thanks to Mark at Carrozzeria who suggested I try CBR F2 bearings.
I checked inside and outside of all bearings and races with a caliper. The lower OE NSR bearing and races on the left is 1.5mm shorter then the CBR bearing and races on the right. The upper bearings and races are the same thickness on both motorcycles. The inside of the bearings and the outside of the races are the same on both motorcycles.
The 1.5mm makes no difference as there are plenty of threads on the stem.
Can you not just order the correct NSR bearings from a honda dealer or any dealer with the part number? Also, there are pattern bearings availble too that are correct. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
I can't order any NSR parts from a dealer here in the States. I would need to go through a local supplier like Carrozzeria or Red Line which at this point don't stock any NSR parts they only order them as requested. If I ordered I wouldn't get that part for three weeks at the best and the shipping would probably be as much as the part. I was at the local cycle shop anyway having some tires mounted and asked if I could try the F2 bearings for fitment. Now my bike will be ready to ride this weekend instead of sometime in March.
For me I like the fact that they are roller bearings which are much stronger then the OE ball bearings. And a stiff front end is a good front end.
