UK prices vs Japan prices

Sun Feb 17, 2008 2:00 pm » Post: #5 » Download Post

There is a website in Japan, goobike.com, which lists all the NSRs currently for sale in Japan (I guess dealer + private). From what I can make out from the partial google translation, prices for MC21 & MC28 SPs range from £2000 - £4800 (Yen equivalent). I have not looked at the R + SE models in enough detail yet.

As with anything 2nd hand and no longer obtainable new, it's worth exactly what someone will pay for it. mc28's fetching fairly big money (i.e. £4k+) is nothing new but it would appear a couple of people recently have been happy to pay similar figures for mc21's and that is something new.

Whether those sort of prices will filter down to the private market is another matter.

The only way to know is advertise it, see what someone offers, banshee may say it's worth £6k, you may want it to be worth £6k, but if no one will actually pay more than £4.5k for it, that's "all" it's worth.

why dont you try and sell it in an established dealer locally to you, this may get your bike sold quicker as people will be more likely to hand a high amount of cash for the bike if its from a dealer.
