Well, as the more observant of you have noticed, there are some changes afoot the forum!
There will soon be a subscription service available, which will mean you get a "Supporting Member" logo under your user name. This will allow access to a new Supporters Discussion area where trade advertisers will be offering discounts to those Members. The Supporters Forum may also be a little more relaxed on acceptable discussion content, but I would like input on this please.
You may also have noticed a star rating on each user name too. We are working on this, but it will be based on the length of registration on the forum AND number of contributing posts (that means all Dave Ett's smilies don't count towards his rating!! ). That star rating will effect your level of discount or access to certain special offers in the Supporters Discussion Forum. It means you can't just register and then instantly get £50 off a set of pipes for example! This makes it fair for the trade sellers who will effectively be sponsoring the system.
The Marketplace will be re-opening soon too, and I will be looking at discounting prices for Supporting Members in the same way.
I may implement 2 levels of Supporting Member at £10/$20 and £25/$50 which will entitle the Member to different benefits. These two amounts will be easily offset by the savings you can potentially make on purchases with the sponsoring companies; it also helps with the upkeep of the ever-growing cost of maintaining the Forum and Website (corporate hosting isn't getting any cheaper!).
As an example, a "basic Membership" @ £10 could allow access to the Supporters Forum and say a blanket 5% from all suppliers, where as a "premium Membership" @ £25 could give 10%, one-off special offers, and access to special group buys.
Like I say, this is all in the early stages, and I would like to hear everyone's views on this please. Participating suppliers are still to be confirmed just now, but you don't need to be rocket scientists to guess who's likely to be offering the deals! _________________ Andy.

Hopefully within the week. The Subscription fee, and more, will easily be saved with a few purchases as a Supporter. _________________ Andy.

Hey, when you got one server... it's the only way to roll
Im making up the rating system as I go with Andy changing it as I come up with something Think it's locked down now, or I'll simple tell Andy I can't change it again cause I need to get a beer. _________________ Charles Gallant
Well, I thought the live testing would catch the eye of the more observant. It also means we can get feedback on the fly, and make the necessary changes.
I'd like people's opinion on the £10/$20 and £25/$50 prices. We're looking at getting some US dealers to give our friends across the pond the deals too.
By the time it's up and running I hope to have suppliers for UK/Europe, Australasia, and North America on board to make it worthwhile for people to sign up regardless of location. _________________ Andy.

It would be good if you could get a tyre supplier on board.
