Great site you have here and it sounds like a good bunch of folks. Thanks for letting me join.
I don't have an NSR, but I am trying to do a conversion that uses NSR parts so I have a couple of questions. I have an RZ350.
I hope to be putting an MC21 front end (SP Forks) on to my bike. I have the forks and front and rear wheels. I also have the front calipers. That's about all that I have. I was wondering if there were some other Hondal models that use the same front & rear rotors and front fender as the MC21. I've been trolling ebay for months looking for stuff and it rarely shows up so I was going to try this approach.
I've looked in this forum and the classified forum and can't find any answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Well, welcome to the Site 'BoldRZ', and thank you for both your kind comments and for registering! :)
There are a number of Hondas that use a similar mounting for the disks (bolt pitch and centre are the same, off-set may differ slightly), VTR1000 Firestorm and CBR900/929 for example, and this would give you an option to run larger diameter disks if you wish (with calliper adaptors, of course).
NSR disks are readily available though, and a post in Classifieds should hopefully see some response from either a seller, or from "someone that knows someone"... you know how it is!
Aftermarket disks are also available in the form of EBC Pro-Line.
If you continue to have difficulty tracking anything down, send me an e-mail or PM me.
I'm running 96 CBR900RR front rotors with adapters on my NSR. All These rotors will fit a NSR wheel, but require a adapter. 95-98 CBR600F3, VFR750F 94-97, CBR900RR 95-97, VTR93-03, also RS250, EBC part# MD1003LS MD1003RS. These rotors are easily found on E-bay for cheap money. I have a project going at the moment and will need to make another set of adapter, if you need them I can have them made for about $80USD. As for the rear I have not found anything the same yet.
Thank you all for the quick replies! Great site and good folks!
I do have a question about running larger rotors. Is this pretty common? Do you need to worry about having too much braking power?
I'm at least interested in the adapters depending upon the answers to the above. Jeff SZ could you email me - nlavine@maad.com. Do you have any pictures? Is this a common thing to do?
