NSR250 front master cylinder questions

Mon Apr 14, 2008 10:56 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Howdy all, first time poster and i have a question for anyone that might be able to help...

I've got an entire MC28 SP front end onto my MC22 CBR250 and i went to mount my Master Cylinder to my lines and calipers only to find that my rubbers have perished and are bypassing past the MC piston. i am in Australia and Honda Aus are a stack of cockheads and refuse to help even the slightest in regards to anything that is imported even if the part is an interchangeable one with an officially imported model...

what i would like to know is this, what size are the front master cylinders on the MC21 [R, SE and SP] and MC28 [R, SE and SP]?

are they 14mm? because im hoping that the MC i got with this front end is in fact is the actual NSR one and if so would any of you know the exact part number/s for the piston seals or the whole reconditioning kit part number. the parts books i have reads the whole piston + rubbers, circlip spring and boot as part 20 45530-KV3-305...

On a side note, does anyone know of any other Honda Road/Sports models that use a 14mm front brake master cylinder so that if Honda Aus refuses to try and get the parts i need then i can at least try and order a piston and seal kit off a bike that uses an identical front MC...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Do a forum search, I'm sure I've seen that an early fireblade master cylinder will fit.

well can anyone check to see if the MC21 or MC28 master cylinder on their bike is a 14mm one?

there is a number stamped into it on the bar side of the actual body. this way i can at least order the correct part number that i have...

On my 28 theres a number 14 on a raised circular bit and a 1 next to it.

I recall Fireblade 900 brakes being the same to, early ones for 21 and later for the 28.
