anyones guess on why that bike seized when it did?
Riding it like a 4-stroke and engine breaking as hard as he did coming into that corner as long and hard as he did kept pre-mix (when your not on the gas, the bike isn't getting fuel/oil) from lubricating the crank.
Do your breaking with the breaks and not the engine on these bikes. _________________ Charles Gallant
You have to do it a bit, if you've got time to blip the throttle you're not trying hard enough. Mechanical sympathy after my Brands practice seize saw me being careful in (what remained of) practice. But on race day when the red light went out and Leigh made those 10 extra horses count on the drag to the first corner, forget it!
And somebody hellishly quick round Mugello

that's within a couple of seconds of Lorenzo's outright 250 lap record, he's not got time to blink, let alone worry about crank life! _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I recon that last one is a 500. He's touching 300kmh (180mph) at the end of the straight! _________________ Warning:

Yep, it was discussed on the RGV forum, but Eurosport they didn't have that gear indicator back in 2001, the laptime is spot on for a 250 and it sounds nothing like a 500, it's more likely there's an error on the speed readout calculation, it'll just be a bit of Dorna kit.
Anyway even the 500's only pulled 280kph down the straight at Mugello. MotoGP bikes pull 310+ (and run 1.50 lap times), 250's about 260.
And you'd be horrified to know a 250 has been clocked at 173mph. Shanghai 2006, Roberto Locatelli hit 279.6kph through the speed trap, cover that clutch boy _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Thanks for riding tip Charles. I was thinking it was a cold seizure since his temp was a little low. _________________ james
