Can someone tell me the weight difference between standard and the Magteks?
I have one of my jap imports with a rear but needs painting and tidying up, was wondering if it is worth the hassle for a (potentially) minimal weight saving?
It's about 500g per wheel, not much but it is rotating unsprung weight.
Also if you plan on selling it ever an SP without Magteks stands out a mile off as a fake. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I weighed my wheels (standard and Magtek) a couple years ago and I thought I posted the results. You might do a search. I just weighed my RS wheels and they are silly light! The tire weigh almost three times as much. I have a front magtek on the shelf if you want me to weigh it. _________________ james

The front Magtek weighs about 13 lbs according to my scale, which might be off a little. The Front RS wheel is about 6.5 lbs. _________________ james

James... weigh yourself, then step on the scales and hold the wheel! It's more accurate than trying to weigh just the wheel!
Michael... yes, the NX5 rear wheel can be fitted to the MC28. See if anyone spots the deliberate mistake though, other than the odd number of spokes a Pro-Arm rear has compared to all the other NSR wheels!*
* Not including the MC16 3-spokes... which at least match! _________________ Andy.

The scale I use is a small package scale. It doesn't go over 100lbs. I don't have another scale. _________________ james

Oh, OK, I thought you may have been trying to weigh it on personal bodyweight scales, which can sometimes have difficulty reading light weights. _________________ Andy.

Not half as much as the fact it's too wide. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

Sorry Fontyyy,
But I am not understand exactly what you are saying... My English isn't so good... You mean that there is no enough clearance between the rim and the swing arm...? Also if I put a 180/55 R17 tyre in the RS250 rim am I going to have the same clearance problem...
The bike is going to be ridden only on Sundays just for fun and I don't really care if it feels a little bit strange with a 180/55 R17 rear tyre... But I care a lot how it is going to looks like though...!!!
