Mine is a 1988 nsr250. I just bought it. I added about 6 litre to it last time and it only lasted about 70 kms. Is it normal or something else is wrong?
6 litre=1.33 imperial gallons
70km=43.5 miles
= 32.7 mpg. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I did 202 miles yesterday of mixed riding, but haven't refilled yet to get the final figures, but here's a breakdown of a couple of the legs:
Exmouth to Great Torrington via Sourton Cross. This is 61 miles (98km) in total. Exmouth to Sourton Cross is 38.8 miles, mainly A30 dual carriageway and cruising at 80mph. Sourton Cross to Great Torrington is fast wiggly A-road. Top-up at Great Torrington was 1.5 UK gallons (6.81 litres). That means 40mpg (9.45km/ltr).
Great Torrington to Tiverton via Barnstaple, Lynmouth and Minehead is 90 miles (145km) of more mixed riding, some of which is very slow through some winding gorges and small towns, but 2/3 is fast sweeping riding. Top-up in Tiverton was 2.62 gallons (11.8 litres), meaning an average of 34.35mpg (12.29km/ltr)!
151 miles/243km -- 4.14 UK gallons/18.8ltr -- 36.5mpg or 12.92km/ltr.
Damn... I must be smoother than I thought!!
When I top up next I will add the final leg up, and get an overall total for the 200 miles. It will also be interesting to see what the averages are over only the wiggly bits! I reckon it will drop below 20mpg then. _________________ Andy.

It's not actually that much of a diffierence, as 2-strokes are inherently inefficient at low to mid revs... _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
Yep, high revs won't drink it, wide throttle openings will. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Like they say at the Ferrari dealerships, when you ask what mileage it'll make:
"If you have to ask, you can't afford it"
his can do about 20km/liter. His is a VMAX.
AND ? A Citroen 2CV can do 22kmh, but what fun is there in that ? _________________ Poul
