Hi all, i apologise if this subject has been covered before, but i have discovered that my MC21 SP is fitted with an M-Max de-restriction box, am i better to remove this and conduct the wire splice?
Also other than TYGA what other exhausts are readily available in the UK, i see R*Vs have a choice of Lomas, Arrow, Sugaya, Tyga etc. Has anyone had any custom pipes made - Swarbrick, Gibson etc? Is there an easy way to get dog fight pipes in Europe?
Sorry for all the questions

All the M-max is is a wire splice.

The grey connectors to the GPS are just a loop of wires... effectively an extension! Rolling Eyes

If it works, no need to fiddle with it, unless you want to do a neater (as good as invisible if done properly) wiresplice.

I spoke to Jim Lomas. He will make some NSR pipes if someone will take him an NSR... he's now in the Czech Republic however! I can get you a cracking deal on the first set though! Laughing

You'll need to go a long way to get better than stainless TYGA's for the price in the UK... in fact, I would say that the price vs. effort vs. quality is unbeatable. You will pay almost double for Japanese pipes, and while the quality is unquestionably superior, it's not doubly superior, and neither is the performance.

I bought new Japanese pipes purely because that's all that was available 13 years ago, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy TYGA now if I needed new pipes.

Ironically if thats the bike I think it is the guy you are buying it from swapped the dog fight pipes which were fitted to it for a set of stock pipes which are now fitted to it Shocked

hi steve,

had many a good time on the bike just wanted to know whether you have any idea when the top end was last done.

i haven't had any problems and infact the bike runs like a bullet, which was strange as you thought it was restricted still (no splice done). I am very please with the bike and the best money spent in a long time.

If you have any idea of services atleast i can freshen it up at some point.

how's life blasting around bluewater then on the sp.

wes

Hi Wes, good to hear from you buddy, as far as i am aware the engine has never been apart, so it may need a quick inspection if you have done a lot of miles.

My new SP i haven't ridden yet, i collect it on the 27th July when i return home, i will start a new topic and post some pictures of it, maybe we can meet up for a blast soon.

Is there anyone else in the Kent area fancy meeting up for a spin????

Very Happy
