With the Rothmans MC21SP, are the Magteks gold or white in colour?

Mine are gold, would it upset the purists if i was to get them powdercoated white? Confused

I think they were white standard. Sounds like the wheels are off a Pentax sp not a rothmans.

The MC21 and MC28 Rothmans had white wheels. I think the MC18 Rothmans had gold wheels.

That makes a lot of sense as the bike started out as a Pentax rep.
She currently is sporting a brand new Rothmans paintjob but i have always loved the Pentax colours. So what do you advise guys - paint the bodywork back to Pentax colours to match the wheels or paint the wheels to match the bodywork?
Obviously one will be a lot more expensive than the other.
Has anyone any bodywork that is complete and undamaged but needs a paint who may be interested in doing a deal for my Rothmans bodywork?
If i was to change the colour of the wheels is it best to paint or powdercoat Magteks?

Cheers Steve Very Happy

You are obviously a man of great taste Laughing
Personaly I would leave them gold as they go well with the Rothmans colours and it gives you the option to switch back to Pentax colours when you get some good bodywork to paint.
If you do the wheels I would have them painted but what ever you do send them to someone who knows what they are doing, the magnesium has a protective finish under the paint which can be removed if the wrong blast media is used.

Yeh i'd leave them gold as well i think it would look very nice with gold rims and most people would never know it was supposed to be different.

Yeah I like the gold also......

I have Red Magteks on my Rothmans....I got a 93 SP with the Rothmans bodywork. I'm going to see how the red looks but I may switch to the standard white for the Rothmans.

It would upset a purist if you powdercoated over Honda paint on a set of Magteks full stop!

Leave them gold. If it was good enough for Doohan it's good enough for me. Wink

Cheers Guys, it looks like a majority decision to leave them gold.

Thanks for your help,

Steve Wink
