Mad riding home from work yesterday flat out at 125 mph,she loses power, i caught it with the clutch straight way.she still gets me home though on 1 cylinder.
It turns out on closer inspection the spark plug electrode on top cylinder has gone and melted top and the side of the piston where the rings are,the cylinder has a bit of piston material embedded in the wall, but looks like it will hone out, cylinder head is fine.crankcase looks fine inside.
Will it be okay to whack one of my mc 18 top ends on until i manage to get a new 300 top end sorted?
cheers Rob.

That will result in a massive imbalance. You would be better off fitting both MC18 top-ends until the piston kit arrives.

You have to drain the coolant anyway, so it's only 4 more bolts to undo, an extra base gasket, and a couple of circlips to replace!
