new and slightly confused

hello ive been reading through the forum as i am looking a buying an mc28se. i know these bike are like rocking horse poo to get hold of and the only place i can find with these machines available are fastline in preston.
ive used the search function and it seams to of been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the responses with regards to the quality of not only the service but also the bikes that are coming through the showroom.
i have had my heart set on one day owning a mc28 since i saw it in an old grey bike magazine when i was only little and i dont want to be parting with £5000 for an "old two stroke" (please dont be offended i hope you know what i mean) unless i know its not on its 5th oversize piston rebore and that everything is as it should be.
i am aware of the joys and pitfalls of two stroke ownership and i am aware of how special these bikes are. Im not diving into this blindfolded and have done a fair ammount of research alot of which has been through this site (as its one of the only sites with any information on the nsr) any help that any one can offer will be greatly apprieciated.

Tam

Hello Tam, and welcome to the Forum.

Have a look in the Classifieds, there is a very tidy looking MC28SE for sale, and the current owner is quite active on the Forum. It may be worth chatting to him and looking at the bike... it too was ex Fastline.

right thats it im going cleaning my bike again!!!!!!!!! lol

anyone is more than welcome to have a look !!
the thing i cant get my head around is...........
all the things that put you off buying a two stroke ( not just NSR`S ) have been done on my bike!!!
new top ends
new tyres
new chain
new waterpump
oil pump rebuild
new battery
new regulator etc etc and the list goes on and on!!!!

yet people would rather buy one without all this work done then suffer all the problems

all i can say is........ if you are looking for a mint low milage nsr that has been stood hence low miles then expect some problems!!!!

the seals go hard ( new waterpump / oil pump rebuild )
you wont know the history e.g. warmed up propper / thrashed ( new top ends )

i could go on all night but i have a bath running!!!!!

dont hessitate to call even if you just want a chat

OK guys, you've both had your say, now no more selling in the Discussion forum please.

"Rules is rules", but I think I've been fair enough.
