I swapped over the carbs,R/C v/v servo, cleaned the v/vs,-factory clean-moving freely and....chanced the PGM from my other bike. With the cables disconnected, the servo cycled fine, reconnected the cables watched the movement, which lasted for a few minutes, then nothing!(bollox).I'm depressed now any ideas as to what I can try next?
Did you rotate the valves with cables attached to check the cables are not binding? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Being a novice at these things,I checked and rechecked the v/v movement, before connecting the servo up to the good PGM.The cables are fine, battery new and conditioned, maybe an earthing problem,or a short circuit?I'm guessing now!
The power valve motors draw their current from the PGM in the seat hump, and excess current draw is usually the best way to kill your PGM.
Have you checked all the connections are free of corrosion and properly seated?
Might be worth whipping the top off the PGm and checking it for signs of overheating - burnt smell or darkening of the rubber coating. If the valves rotate once I'd gues it was fine though.
Any good with a multi meter? can you connect it inline and check the current draw when it works and again when it doesn't? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

I'll have to get cracking on a loom inspection, more out of hope than anything else I have a shiney new PGM, ,but I really don't want to risk any more failures. What is confusing ,is the fact that the v/vs are free to move by hand,so the current draw should be within normal operating parameters .The cables are routed correctly, and in the right order, anyway,I'll see how I get on with the electrical connections etc. Thanks for the replies folks.
You do know the servo will only cycle once, to it's "Lo" position, unless the motor runs?
The only convenient way to test it otherwise is to disconnect & reconnect the T.P.S. which should then sweep the servo from "Lo" to "Hi" and back again respectively. _________________ Andy.
