I am trying to decide what route to go for a fork upgrade for my MC21r, considering either getting a MC28sp fork and get the insides upgraded or go the the rvf400 route. Which is considered the best for a road focused bike? Alternatively is there something else I should consider.
I know we've discussed a few options elsewhere, but I think the best bang for your bukc is to get the stock ones sprung to your weight/style. For a road bike, you'll set them up once and then forget about it.
Could you look at the possibility of getting the internals from other bikes if they suit your weight range?
Thats what I am thinking with the 28SP forks. The options for revising the internals is better than the 21r that I have. Its just the cost of doing that versus the cost of rvf....plus the rvf wank factor lol
I've set up my SP forks to work well for some serious canyon riding. They just needed a slightly heavier fork oil and a higher oil level and they support my 200lb ass just fine.
You can't beat RS250 forks... hand built by HRC and need no internal modification as they are made for a 250!
You also get big brakes with them and sexy calipers with quick release pins! (Just make sure you take a quick peek down at the pads each time you hop on to make sure some scumbag hasn't removed them while you weren't looking!) _________________ Andy.
